Services Explained

Individual & Couple’s Therapy

Lindsey specializes in providing grief therapy for miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant death. Understanding firsthand how the journey into motherhood can take a tragic turn, she’s an expert at holding space for mothers to process the pain that comes from losing a baby.

As a trauma-informed therapist, Lindsey understands that grief and trauma are often intertwined. To untangle the two, Lindsey treats reproductive trauma (perinatal loss, infant death, birth & NICU trauma) with bilateral stimulation therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). EMDR & ART helps process the trauma of past painful events to assist you in finding space to go deeper in the process of tending to your grief.

Lindsey will hold space for you if you are walking the uncertain and grief field journey of infertility. She has partnered with many families as they explore alternative family conception options on their journey to parenthood.

Pregnancy after loss is the hardest thing a parent can do after outliving their baby. Lindsey will walk with you during trying to conceive after loss, through your nine months of pregnancy and into your role as a parent during life after loss.

Anxiety, anger, and depression, unfortunately, are a part of new motherhood for one out of seven new mothers. Understanding this firsthand, as Lindsey has also experienced the pain that can sometimes cloud the perinatal and postpartum period and has gone on to become certified as a Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) provider with specific and extensive training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Do you yell at your partner or kids? Maybe swear more than you like? Then get mad at yourself for doing so and fill up with deep shame and regret? Maybe you ruminate about your misstep all night and then don’t get any sleep, only to wake up in the morning feeling worse about your parenting? Lindsey has in the past, too. That is why she prides herself not on being the perfect parent but on being a good enough mother, which is hard to do in a society that doesn’t support its parents. Lindsey will help you learn how to find calm within your nervous system by rebuilding your emotional toolbox. Because, like Dr. Becky says, “We are just good parents having a hard time.” And because being a calm(er) mom = calm(er) kids.

Lindsey enjoys working with couples who need additional support on their journey to and through parenthood. She offers supportive grief-based therapy to couples so they can better understand each other as they individually process their pain over the death of their child through attending to couples’ communication concerns as they adjust to the postpartum period and learn to reallocate the division of labor after their baby is born.

The messy middle of midlife and motherhood can do a number on your mental health. Lindsey offers support to parents during this sometimes surprisingly tumultuous time when they struggle with their children’s mental health, marriage concerns, midlife themes, and aging parents.
