Grief & Loss – Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Lindsey specializes in providing grief therapy for miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death. Understanding first hand how the journey into motherhood can take a tragic turn she’s an expert at holding space for mothers to process the pain that comes from losing a baby.
Reproductive Trauma
As a trauma informed therapist, Lindsey understands that grief and trauma are often intertwined. To untangle the two, Lindsey treats trauma with bilateral stimulation therapies including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART helps process out the trauma of past painful events to help you and Lindsey find space to go deeper in the process of tending to your grief.
Infertility
Lindsey will hold space for you if you are walking the uncertain and grief field journey of infertility. She has partnered with many families as they explore alternative family conception options on their journey to parenthood.
Pregnancy After Loss
Pregnancy after loss is the hardest thing a mama can do after outliving her baby. Lindsey’s favorite type of therapy is to provide those courageous mamas who choose joy over fear while nurturing their grief during a pregnancy after a previous loss. Lindsey will walk with you during trying to conceive after loss, through your nine months of pregnancy and into your role as a mother parenting after loss.
Postpartum & Perinatal
Anxiety, anger and depression unfortunately are a part of new motherhood for one out of seven new mothers. Lindsey understands this first hand as she also experienced the pain that can sometimes cloud the perinatal and postpartum period and has gone on to become certificated as a Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) provider with specific and extensive training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Parenting
Do you yell at your partner or kids? Maybe swear more than you like? Then get mad at yourself for doing so and fill up with deep shame and regret? Maybe ruminate about your misstep all night and then don’t get any sleep, only to wake up in the morning feeling worse about your parenting? Lindsey has in the past, too. That is why she prides herself, not on being the perfect parent, but on trying to cope as best she can to be a good enough mother (who only swears when she wants too, not when she has lost her sh*t.) Learning how to rebuild her emotional toolbox and calm the $%&! down herself as a parent, is why she loves teaching other mothers skills to do the same. Because being a calm(er) mom = calm(er) kids.
